Our Work in Abia State, Nigeria
Our first major outreach brought free health care to the community of Ekenobizi Umuopara in Umuahia South L.G.A., Abia State.
Our team, local health workers and volunteers offered health checks, consultations and free medicines to children, adults and elders. Families also received Bucket of Love gifts with food and essentials to take home.
We returned to Ekenobizi with rows of KMJ Foundation buckets and set up outside the local primary health care center.
One by one, our volunteers handed buckets of essentials to women and families, working from a list of households so each family received its gift in person.
On the evening of December 24, 2024 our team shared gifts and essential items with women and elders, so more families could celebrate Christmas with something extra.
Moments like these remind us why the work matters: a gift handed over in person tells someone they are not forgotten.

Looking Ahead
We are building on these outreach days with programs that last all year: women’s micro-loans, skills and jobs training, school supplies for children and a new clean water initiative. With more support, we can return more often and reach more communities in Abia State.
