Clean Water Initiative for Communities in Abia State
Clean water touches every part of daily life: health, school, cooking and work. In many rural communities families spend hours collecting water, and that water is not always safe to drink. Waterborne illness keeps children out of school and adults out of work.
Our Clean Water Initiative is the newest part of KMJ Foundation’s work. We are planning water projects together with the communities we already serve through our medical missions and Bucket of Love program.
What We Are Working Toward
Helping communities reach reliable sources of clean water close to home.
Supporting repairs of existing water points so they keep working.
Sharing simple practices that help prevent waterborne illness.
Planning every project with local leaders so it is cared for over time.
Every water project starts with planning, materials and local partners. Donations to the Clean Water Initiative help us prepare the first projects and bring them to life.
We also welcome partners with experience in water, engineering or community health. If your church, business or organization would like to be part of it, we would love to hear from you.
